2 MINUTE MAGGI BHEL

This recipe is for those moments when you crave for something chatpata,or when you dream of chaat(like I usually do), something quick to satisfy your cravings πŸ™‚

I learnt this recipe from Nestle company people, who had come to my friend’s house to give a demo of their products. This recipe appealed to all the ladies present. Now all this happened long back , about10 yrs back, but I still make it. My kids love it.It hardly takes few minutes to assemble it πŸ™‚image192.jpg

All you require is a Maggi pack(veg masala flavour), Tomato ketchup, onions, coriander n tomatoes.

INGREDIENTS:-Maggi -1packet

Tomato ketchup-2Tbsp (you can add more according to taste)

Onion – 1 small finely cut

Tomato -1 small finely cut

Coriander leaves- 1 T bsp

Green chillis -1 finely cut (optional)

Boiled potato cubes-1 Tbsp ( optional)

Fried pea nuts 1Tbsp ( optional)

Fine besan bhujia or sev -(optional)

METHOD:- Crush the noodles with a rolling pin , without opening the packet. Literally beat up the packet πŸ™‚image180.jpg
image186.jpgOpen the pack and dry roast the noodles in a pan, without adding any any oil !! ! Roast it till the colour changes to golden brown.image185.jpg

  1. Maybe a hit of lime too? Nice recipe. But i have heard eating kachha noodles is not that great for digestion. Maybe thats why it is roasted. Will definitely give it a try. About ur comment…Orzo is a variety of pasta that is shapped like rice. May not be available in India though.

    Hi Hema,
Good idea, lime will make it tangy too. I like this tip, never thought of it earlier.Yes I think it is roasted to aid in digestion, ,becoz no cooking is involved in the whole recipe other than roasting πŸ™‚
Thanx for the info for Orzo. You are right it is not available here. But I saw tiny macoroni made by Bambino co. specially for soups. I can substitute them for Orzo πŸ™‚

  3. HI Archana,

wow…I LOVE maggi! you know, I really miss the old flavors like Capsicum,Lasaniya and sweet&sour, we don’t get them anymore! 😦

Maggi bhel is a nice idea…LOVE masala maggi, and also the new, healthier, Atta one too.

Have they come up with any new flavors in India, Archana?

    Hi Trupti,
I like the new Maggi which they have introduced ‘Rice Mania’. They are rice noodles and come in 3 flavours Lemon masala, pulao, and chilli chow. I luv the chilli chow . It is spicy , and I add lots of stir fried fresh cabbage etc along with tomato ketchup and have it lick lick it clean :))))
They have come up with dal atta noodles which are sambhar flavoured !!
Can’t imagine sambhar combined with atta 😦 So I never tried them πŸ™‚

    • if it is rice noodles, with sambar it is tasty. we used to make this separately i mean rice noodles and sambar and dahi kadhi. rice noodles it is a long long process. we call it as ” papam chaita palaharam” means it has committed some sin. why because, the process is like this you have to soak the rice, grind it, then like for modak we prepare the atta, like that you have to prepare this, then make elongated balls and steam it, then put it in the sev sacha and make the noodles. then can have it plain with sambar/dahi kadhi (special) or make coconut seva, lime seva etc.

  4. Hey Archana,
